When the village of Nova Ponente is covered in a blanket of pure, white snow that glistens in the glorious winter sun, the place transforms into a true winter wonderland. Our hiking trails are perfect for romantic walks in the peaceful, snowy landscape, snowshoe hikes allow you to experience our pristine countryside first hand, or maybe you’ll encounter some of the local wildlife as you explore the stunning scenery on horseback. Boredom is a thing of the past, as cross-country skiing (Langlauf) and tobogganing opportunities in the village never disappoint. The toboggan run in the village and kilometre upon kilometre of Langlauf tracks are sure to appeal to winter sports enthusiasts of all kinds.
The magical Lago di Carezza promises a delightful winter experience. A small Christmas market, surrounded by an idyllic mountain backdrop, awaits you here. Wooden huts shaped like large lanterns, ice sculptures of all sizes, a life-size nativity scene, countless wood ovens and places to keep warm make a visit to Lago di Carezza a romantic and unforgettable experience. The snow is cleared from the well-lit circular trail around the lake so guests to the region can enjoy a quiet walk in peaceful countryside… Christmas romance at its best!
Those who prefer a day of retail therapy followed by an evening at the Christmas market won’t go wanting. Bolzano, our regional capital, is only a half-hour drive away. There are countless shops and alleys to explore, as well as a great deal of restaurants and bars, all of which will entice you to make the most of your day in town.
This show is incredible! Characters from local legend, such as King Laurin, or fairy tales, like the seven dwarves; torch-lit descents, freestyle and snowcat demonstrations or performances by the Carezza ski school are just a few of the highlights this show has to offer. A firework fantasia rounds this extravaganza off nicely.
The Carezza Snow Night takes place on Wednesdays beginning 23 January until 20 March on the Pra Di Tori piste and starts at 9:30pm.
